Etude 'Allegro' - Mauro Guiliani

Etude 'Allegro' - Mauro Guiliani

$5.00

Mauro Giuliani wrote so many pieces to help guitarists tackle fundamental aspects of technique. This lovely little etude (study) is one of those pieces designed to develop a quick and accurate right hand.

My arrangement has complete fingering suggestions for both hands and video tutorial(s) to guide you through the piece from beginning to end.

This 'Allegro' etude by Guiliani aids the budding guitarist to focus on several techniques:

1. Keeping the right hand steady
2. Developing apoyando or rest strokes with the thumb
3. Keeping right hand fingers close to the strings

The aim should be to move towards a tempo of around 110 to 140 BPM.

Mauro was a recognised virtuoso in the early part of the 19th century and his contribution to the guitar was staggering. These 120 exercises will help you to gain control over your right-hand enabling you to play a vast variety of pieces in any style.

There are only 2 chords used throughout the etudes:

Chord 1: C (C, E, G)
Chord 2: G7 (G, B, D, F)

The right-hand fingers used are:

P: Thumb (Pulgar)
i: index
m: middle
a: anular (ring)

Tips:

1. Keep your right hand steady
2. Restrict movement to the large joints of the hand (not too much bouncing)
3. Let your fingertips flow across the strings like a paint brush
4. Don't grab at the strings
5. Try to keep your wrist straight without too much bending
6. Relax

This video covers exercises 51 to 60. Over the next 7 weeks I will upload a video that contains 10 studies. Unlike other guitarists I will keep to the original format of the book and teach them in the order that Giuliani presented them.
